Othopantomogram (OPG)

Skull PA View

Skull X-rays can be categorized based on the specific views or angles from which the images are taken. Some common types of skull X-rays include:

1. Lateral Skull X-ray: This X-ray is taken from the side of the head. It provides a profile view of the skull, allowing for the evaluation of facial bones, nasal structures, and the overall shape of the skull.

2. Anteroposterior (AP) Skull X-ray: This X-ray is taken from the front of the head to the back (from the front to the back of the skull). It provides a frontal view of the skull, including the orbits (eye sockets), nasal bones, and frontal sinuses.

3. Posteroanterior (PA) Skull X-ray: This X-ray is taken from the back of the head to the front (from the back to the front of the skull). It provides a reverse frontal view of the skull and is often used to visualize the skull base and structures like the sella turcica (a bony saddle-like structure in which the pituitary gland sits).
